The cities of Hermiston and Umatilla are located in northeast Oregon, about 190 miles east of Portland.
Hermiston is situated along highway 395, on the banks of the Umatilla River. Umatilla is located along the banks of the Columbia River, 7 miles north of Hermiston along I-82 where it meets highway 730.
Area attractions include the Cold Springs Reservoir, the Cold Springs National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Umatilla and the Columbia River. The area also provides hunting, fishing, and other recreational activities.
