The cities of Burns and Hines are located at the junction of Highway 20 and Highway 395 in southeast Oregon. Both cities are situated north of Malheur Lake, Harney Lake and Silver Lake.
Attractions in the area include the Harney County Historical Museum and the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, which is located 30 miles south of Burns on US 205.
All hotels in the area are located on highway 20 in-between the two cities.
